Know your AirPlanes

As an aviation enthusiast, I have always gazed up to the sky whenever the sound of an aircraft engine is nearby just to identify the airplane flying by.

Today I will try and put the names to the picture of some of the most common aircraft you are likely to see. I hope this helps you put the names to the planes as you continue to gaze up in the interest of the big birds.

The Cessna 150 is a single-piston engine,two-seat with tricycle undercarriage used in general aviation. It was designed for flight training and personal use.

The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is a single-piston engine, four-seat, high wing monoplane and has a tricycle undercarriage. It was designed for flight training and personal use.


The Cessna 180 is a four/ six-seat, fixed high wing with conventional undercarriage used in general aviation. other designs with the tail dragged include:c140,c150, c170, c185

It's a high-wing monoplane with a single turboprop engine, tricycle undercarriage, seats 9 passengers. \

The Cessna 310 is a four-to-six-seat, low-wing monoplane, twin-engine. with a retractable tricycle undercarriage.


The Cessna Citation midsize business jet built by Cessna, the jet is powered by two turbofans, it has the tricycle retractable undercarriage

The Piper PA-44 Seminole a low-wing monoplane, twin-engine turboprop light aircraft, has a retractable tricycle landing gear. It is primarily used for multi-engine flight training.

DHC-7, popularly known as Dash 7, is a turboprop-powered regional airliner with short take-off and landing (STOL) performance. It has a max passenger capacity of 54.

The Dash 8 series is a turboprop-powered regional airliner. The variants available are Dash 8 Q-100/200 ,37–40 seats. Dash 8 Q-300 stretched 50–56 seats and the 68–90 seats Q-400.
